These days, most of us no longer have the time - nor the inclination-to seriously memorize etiquette manuals to learn rules on how to live our lives. Edicts such as whether a man should guide a woman by the elbow when they are walking down the street seem almost quaintly out of date and have little to do with most people's everyday lives. That being said, there is an established etiquette for wedding invitations and it is worth following. Designed to communicate various bits of information (both directly and subtly) surrounding the wedding, this specific etiquette extends to the wording on the invitation as well as the wording on the envelopes and response cards. Etiquette also offers guidance with regards to the timing for the sending of invitations, and, thankfully, etiquette can also help you address any sticky situations that may arise with your guests. |
